Having a “sommarstuga” [summer house] near any body of water, preferably surrounded by nature is about as Swedish as meatballs and Kalles Kaviar. Most people I know have one, at least within the family and it is used to escape regular city life and get some vacation feeling, even if it is only for the weekend. It can also be a mountain cabin but that is a whole other post 🙂
While in Umeå we visited our friends summer house in Täfteå on this gorgeous summer day. Nothing better than play soccer with the kids, have some “fika” (coffee and cinnamon buns) with these water views!
Our family has one in the south of Sweden, a small beach town called Ängelholm but you have already seen that by now as the blog has already covered that part of the trip 🙂
